I have been a part of the Brown Sugar family for over 7 years. Throughout my career I have been lucky enough to provide colour technician training for the L’Oreal Academy, and contribute to the L’Oreal Colour Trophy. I also achieved a personal goal of mine by winning a placement on the L’Oreal iD Artist program in 2013. Hairdressing isn’t just a job for me, it’s my passion! I draw my inspiration from fashion and pop-culture. I’m excited to be part of Sugar Cubed as I get to work with such a forward-thinking and inspirational team.
I honed in on my love for hairdressing while in fashion and design college, I noticed myself focusing on hair more so than clothing, although most of my inspiration comes from the runway and fashion magazines. I am really passionate about colour, but I love all aspects of hairdressing. I was over the moon when I learned that I’d be part of the Brown Sugar team, and even more so when I found out about Sugar Cubed. To be part of the Sugar Cubed team means the world to me. Brown Sugar is already so fashion forward, but this new younger sister salon will really allow me explore the younger fashions.
I knew the Brown Sugar salons were supposed to be amazing, but I had no idea just how amazing, until I became part of the team! To now be a part of the Sugar Cubed is a dream come true. I was bowled over by the high-standard of customer service and was extremely proud to now be an extension of that superior service. My favourite aspect of working front of house is being able to work with such a forward thinking team, and receiving the opportunity to deal with the public, one to one. It’s something I love to do.
Hairdressing has always been in my family so it’s something I have always been ambitious and passionate about. I really love the fashion side of hairdressing, which was one of the reasons I got into it. I am a big fan of the tattoo and music scene, anything that is a little bit out there I tend to draw my inspiration from. I love both styling and colour. It makes me happy when my guests stand out in a crowd and leave the salon feeling good about themselves. Working in Sugar Cubed means I’ll have the opportunity to look after clients not to dissimilar from myself, I feel the salon as a whole is very “me”, which is really exciting.
Something you may not know about me is that I was an electrician for four years prior to becoming a hairdresser. A friend of mine was training to become a hairdresser and watching her progress really gave me the push to get into it. I gave it a go, fell in love and have been married to it for ten years now. I take inspiration from upcoming trends, but mainly my inspiration comes from my clients! Cutting and styling hair is my favourite aspect of hairdressing, I love to create personalised and individual looks for my clients. The reason i’m most looking forward to my career in Sugar Cubed is to work with like-minded people who give their heart and soul to the trade.
Naoise loves Sugar Cubed and thinks it really encompasses her style. Her favourite thing about the new salon is the colour hub, “it’s just really unusual, so it adds to the salon”. Naoise’s favourite hair trend this season is balayage. “I just love the look, I love Rachel Bilson’s hair, and Miley Cyrus before she cut it”.
